Living in Spain

My husband, Phil, and I live in Andalucía, in southern Spain, in the area called the Costa del Sol, although we are not on the coast (Costa), but are in the sun (Sol)!!

Our urbanisation is called El Portón, meaning The Gateway, because it is on the edge of, or gateway to,  the area called   La Axarquía.

Our nearest city is Málaga, about 35 minutes' drive.  We are also about 35 minutes' drive from the Mediterranean, our nearest resort being Torre del Mar.

This is our villa from the front.....

and from the back.....

We had our villa made for us, to our own specifications.  When we first saw it the shell had been built and internal walls built.  The builder altered it for us and obviously likes us so much he is moving in next door!

This is our lounge ...

... and our kitchen

 and one of the bedrooms.

Because we live in such a warm, sunny place, we have our own swimming pool.  We have bought a cover for it to help keep the water warm and it is a joy to go in for a dip!

Our grandchildren are getting used to the water!

A recent addition to our development has been a dog - a Cairn terrier puppy arrived on the scene about six weeks ago and two of our neighbours decided to adopt him.  They tried unsuccessfully to find his owner so he is now theirs - he has been called Harry Potter!
