On Friday, February 1st, 2008, I reached the grand old age of 60! I am now officially an OAP! I can now receive my state pension as well as my Teacher's Pension, so I am now rolling in money! (I wish!)
As you may have read previously, our neighbour, Diane, was 40 on February 6th, 2008, so we had joint 100th celebrations!
First of all, our friends, Merril and Roger, flew over to help us celebrate. We went out during the morning of my birthday: -
As you can see, I received some cards with badges in, so wore them in the café we stopped at. We also stopped for lunch:-
This photo was taken by Merril, so of course she is not in it!
When we got back home again, the neighbours came to ours for a drink and a piece of birthday cake, kindly brought over from England by Merril and Roger. Here are some photos of that:-
That evening, we all went for dinner to a local restaurant, El Cantueso. There are beautiful views from the restaurant towards the mountains, the lake and then the sea, but it was dark, so we couldn't take advantage and admire the views.
Phil and I are the second and third down on the right. Diane is the blond lady on the left. Her husband, Roger, is next to her, nearest to the camera. Our friend, Roger, is nearest to the camera on the right. Merril took the photo.
This photo is a close-up of Phil and me at this dinner:
I am wearing the silver necklace Phil bought me for my birthday.
