Living in Spain

One of the best days of my life was when I became a grandmother!

This photo was taken when Sam was just a few hours old.  Friends of mine had become grandparents the day before and were visiting their new grandchild, complete with camera!

I knew that Emma had gone into labour and into hospital when I went to school that morning.  My class had to take assembly and before we started the Headmaster told the school that that day would be a very special one for me.

I had my mobile phone in my pocket just in case!  I'm glad it didn't ring right in the middle of The Lord's Prayer!  It didn't ring till lunch time when I was in the staffroom.  As soon as I answered it, all my colleagues stopped talking and listened to me.  They were almost as excited as I was!  The Headmaster even announced the news in the school's Newsletter that week!

I now have two grandsons, Sam, 8 and Jake, 5

Sam and Jake are enjoying playing in our swimming pool!

Towards the end of the summer term, 2007, Emma took her class to the British Museum in London, to see the Egyptian Displays.  She brought back two Egyptian masks for her boys!

Phil and I had a wonderful holiday in Egypt in 1993 and it looks as though Emma and Sam are very interested in Ancient Egypt, too!
