In 2002, our Local Radio station, BBC Hereford and Worcester, organised a poetry competition. Poems were chosen to be published in a book to raise money for the Acorn's Children's Hospice in Worcester. I wrote and entered the following, which was selected for addition in that book!
Love
A warm glow radiates from within:
It spreads, grows; quietly, quickly,
Consuming the body with a passion –
Love, all-encompassing, unconditional,
Growing, nurturing, increasing.
Tenderness, adoration, delight in perfection.
Grandma holds her child’s child for the
First time.
When this photo was taken, I had been a grandma for less than 24 hours!
